BIG ON HISTORY! CAMPAIGN RAISED TO DATE: $4,444,074
There is something magical about Fanshawe Pioneer Village!
It could be the way you step back in time and experience life as it was in the 19th century. Maybe it’s the discovery that a visit here teaches you about both the past and present; the impact the history of this region had on the fabric of Canada; how far we’ve come in a short time; and the experience of leaving everything behind to make a new home in a new land. Perhaps because it’s great family fun!
Fanshawe Pioneer Village isn’t just the history of a few people or buildings. This is your opportunity to discover the history of this community and this country. Help us continue to create the magic at Fanshawe Pioneer Village.
We’re BIG ON HISTORY! And we hope you’re Big on Preserving It!
With your support, the Fanshawe Pioneer Village Capital Campaign will raise $3 million to make history come to life! This is how you can help.
Goal – $1.5 million to restore and repair all historic buildings as identified in the Master Plan, including selected landscape upgrades as identified in the Landscape Master Plan. We have learned the hard way that if the site is in disrepair, visitors get turned off and will not come back. Once the restoration of a building is complete, we will introduce new costumes, events, gardens, landscaping and interpretation programs appropriate for each building’s historic period.
Goal – $500,000 to grow the principal of the Fanshawe Pioneer Village Endowment Fund at The London Community Foundation. By doubling our existing endowment we will provide stable annual income for our operations. Ultimately, this will have a direct impact on our ability to keep our buildings and artifacts in fine repair, and provide us with the ability to develop new programming for this 45-acre site.
Goal – $1 million to build a new Visitor Centre, which will include facilities for proper storage and care of our 24,000 artifacts. This building will include display and meeting space that will allow us to extend our season from eight months to year-round for public programming.
