Education Program Group Tours Guest Speakers and Lectures Workshops

Experience history come to life with one of our many group tours offered at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. A Village interpreter will lead your group through the many historic buildings and sights the Village has to offer.

Fanshawe Pioneer Village Walking Guided Tour
Journey back in time and experience the development of Canadian society as represented by more than 20 historic buildings on-site at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. A Village interpreter will lead your group through the Village, giving visitors a chance to explore and to ask questions about the site. This is a 90 minute walking tour. Rain or Shine. Please come prepared for the weather.

Group Tour Offered: May – October

Fanshawe Pioneer Village S.S. #19 Guided Tour (Subject to Availability)
This unique Village tour offers visitors the opportunity to experience an interactive 19th century school lesson taught by a teacher from 1871. Visitors are encouraged to participate by practicing their reading, writing and arithmetic skills with a slate and pencil. In addition, visitors will tour the Village with an interpreter and have the chance to explore and to ask questions about the more than 20 historic buildings on-site at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. This is a 2 hour walking tour. Rain or Shine. Please come prepared for the weather.

Group Tour Offered: May – June or September  - October (Subject to Availability)

Games on the Green Guided Tour
The Games on the Green guided tour offers groups the opportunity to participate in 19th century games in the Village Park.  Groups will have a choice of 19th Century games to play in addition to a guided tour of the more than 20 historic buildings throughout Fanshawe Pioneer Village.  This is a 2 hour walking tour. Rain or Shine. Please come prepared for the weather.

Group Tour Offered:  May - October (Subject to Availability)


The Village Café will be open from 10 am until 4:30 pm Wednesday to Sunday and Holiday Mondays from May 15th, 2010 through to Thanksgiving Day. Picnic facilities are also available.

All Group Tours must be pre-booked by phone. Book early to avoid disappointment!
