Denfield General Store:

Denfield General Store - Fanshawe Pioneer Village

A visit to the past at Fanshawe Pioneer Village is not complete without a stop at the Denfield General Store. This building served as the general store and post office for the community of Denfield from 1877 to 1952 and is an outstanding example of balloon-frame construction. During its 73 years service as a general store, the shop offered everything for sale from pins to pianos.

Relive the General Store experience at Fanshawe Pioneer Village. Decorated with period pieces including the postmaster’s table, store counter and cash register, the store features unique merchandise for sale. The children’s toys and candy, hand crafted pieces, period reproductions, jewelry and history books available here make perfect souvenirs or gifts.

PLEASE NOTE: The Denfield General Store will be closed from September 7th to 20th, 2010.  During this time you may find us in the Agriplex at the Western Fair.
