Step into your Future with a Step Back in Time!
Whether you choose an 1800's church, a 1920's gazebo or the Rose Garden, your wedding will be as distinctive as it is memorable at Fanshawe Pioneer Village.
Trinity Anglican Church - Built in 1887 Trinity Church is a beautiful example of ‘carpenter gothic” architecture and one of only 3 in Ontario. Featuring wonderfully carved oak beams and true stained glass windows, the Church also houses an original pump organ and choir area. The Church seats approximately 95 with some standing room and yes the bells can be rung.
- Lochaber Free Presbyterian Church - Lochaber Free Presbyterian Church was built around 1884 by Scottish immigrants who were opposed to joining the Presbyterian Church of Canada. This very simple and plain building was host to services in both Gaelic and English. Due to the dictates of the Free Presbyterian Faith, no instrumental music is allowed. This church can seat approximately 110 with some standing room.
- Lawson Gazebo - Perfect for an outdoor wedding the Lawson Gazebo centered in Victoria Park is a very pretty treed square in the middle of the Fanshawe Pioneer Village with a sweet Gazebo perfect for an outdoor ceremony. The Gazebo was built in 1923 by Colonel Tom Lawson for his new bride Miggsie. The Park can accommodate up to 400 people for an outdoor ceremony.
Or come to the Village for your wedding photos - There is a minimal charge of $50 for wedding photos in the Fanshawe Pioneer Village and these must be arranged in advance. This cost includes free entry into Fanshawe Park and the Village for the full wedding party and photographer. We would strongly advise that your photographer visit the Village prior to the day to gain an understanding of the best spots for pictures. There are so many locations to choose from including log houses, Victorian Rose Gardens, the Cedar Maze and much more!
