Full Day

Join our programmers for this unique Education Event aimed at Homeschoolers.  This is a one-day only Event being offered in the fall.  Students will rotate through 6 hands-on learning stations that focus on 19th century skills and history.  Learn about toys, weaving, penmanship, food, light, and tinsmithing!

Program Schedule:

  • Arrival & Sign-in: 9:40-9:55 a.m.

    • Programming 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

    • Day includes one lunch break.

  • Departure: 2:15 pm

    • General Store (Gift Shop) Opens @ 2:00p.m.  The Village grounds will be open to registrants after 2:00pm to walk around.

    • NOTE: The Heritage Village is not open the day of the event.  Non-programming buildings will be closed.

  • It is essential that groups arrive during the designated sign-in time. Programming will begin right at 10:00 a.m.

  • Participants will be placed into groups with other families and will rotate through 6 stations where they will learn heritage skills and create take home items.

  • Families may book individually. We do not have a minimum number of children needed to book.

  • If you would like to book as part of a large homeschool group we will need a list of all participating families at registration.

Interested in booking contact our Education Coordinator at: education@fanshawepioneervillage.ca or call 519-457-1296 ext. 817.

To book we would need the following details:

  • Main contact’s name and contact info (email/phone number)

    • If this is different than the chaperone attending please let us know.

  • Number of students attending

  • Grade/age of each student

  • Any allergies, health concerns, physical or learning accommodations we should be aware of.

Due to limited space there is room for 1 chaperone per family. If you require an additional chaperone please ask us at booking. Chaperone is free.
Since we have limited space in our Heritage Buildings we ask that younger non-participating children are left at home.  If you have concerns about this please ask at booking and we will try our best to accommodate.
