Explore Irish Heritage in Ontario!
Date: Sunday, August 16th, 2026
Time: 10:00am-4:00pm
Join the Irish Benevolent Society at Fanshawe Pioneer Village for a celebration of Irish heritage in our local region!
Enjoy all-day Irish trad music, plus dancing, hurling, visiting museum displays, a genealogy corner, kids' activities, and so much more!
Don't miss the Opening Ceremony at 1:00pm, or the 1798 Rebellion reenactments at 10:30am and 2:30pm courtesy of the Earl of Moira Royal Navy Gun Crew.
Treat yourself to a fish and chips lunch from Craklins Fish & Chips, or hot dogs at the Village's BBQ fundraiser. The BBQ will run from 11:00am-3:00pm, and will include halal and vegan hot dogs. Cash is recommended for both food vendors.
As always, explore 25+ Heritage Buildings in our open-air museum, and learn local history from costumed historical interpreters!
Regular admission rates apply. Please note that activities and times are subject to change. The event will run rain or shine. Village programming is only paused in the event of extreme weather.
