Trillium Community Gallery Exhibits
The Trillium Community Gallery is located inside the Spriet Family Visitor Centre* at Fanshawe Pioneer Village.
*The Spriet Family Visitor Centre is the large red building just outside the Heritage Village.
This building is the Administration Offices for the Museum and has the Trillium Gallery inside.
Exhibits in the Community Gallery are free, but donations are always welcome.
Each year we have two exhibits in our Community Gallery- a Winter Exhibit (first week of February to the Friday of March Break) and our main Seasonal Exhibit (typically opening weekend in May to the end of September/beginning of October).

Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Stories:
200 Years of the Forest City
May 16 to October 1, 2026
At the Fork of the Thames River (Deshkan Ziibi) in 1826, the Village of London was established. Step inside the Community Gallery to uncover the hidden lives of ordinary Londoners whose extraordinary stories and experiences helped shape the Forest City into the place it is today.

Naakonigewnan ezhi-zhitoong: Wampum and Treaties of London & Middlesex County
Presented by Chippewas of the Thames First Nation & London & Middlesex Heritage Museum (Fanshawe Pioneer Village)
Explore the history of wampum and the treaties of London and Middlesex County. Discover how wampum was used to record agreements and relationships, engage with hands-on activities, and learn from artwork and research by students from Antler River Elementary School.
Past Prescriptions
Come discover a century of medicine and learn how medical practices shaped London and Middlesex County. Explore artifacts, uncover unique stories of Londoners in medicine, and learn how people experienced health and medicine in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
A Model Village
Come see detailed hand carved models that provided the inspiration for Fanshawe Pioneer Village made by our founding curator, Wilfrid Jury, and his father Amos Jury in the mid-20th century. These unique models show life in the 1800s.
Freedom for All
2024 marks the 190th anniversary of the Slavery Abolition Act coming into effect, which began the process of freeing enslaved people across the British Empire, including those in Canada. This exhibit explores the process of enacting Emancipation, and its impact on early Black Communities in the London area.
Only What You Can Carry
Come explore five unique stories of migration from communities in what is now London and Middlesex County.

Downtime in the Village is our new exhibit in the Trillium Gallery after having a two year break due to the pandemic. Come and explore how people in London-Middlesex had fun in their free time during the 19th and early 20th Century.
