Fanshawe Pioneer Village shares 100 years of London and Middlesex County history, with something new to discover every time you visit!

The Heritage Village has over 25 buildings to explore during the Regular Daily Visitor Season! Come see inside the buildings, talk to costumed staff and volunteers, and learn more about life between 1820-1920.


There is lots to see and experience at the Museum, including Exhibits in our Trillium Community Gallery, Seasonal Special Events throughout the entire year, and a variety of Education and Summer Programs your group can book. Make sure to explore the rest of our website to learn more about everything we offer- we even have weddings!

Hours, Admission and Visitor Services

  • In 2026 the Heritage Village is open to visit: May 16 - October 12

    Heritage Village Admission Hours:

    • Spring Hours: May 16 to June 28, 2026

      • Thursdays to Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    • Summer Hours: June 30 to September 6, 2026

      • Tuesdays to Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    • Fall Hours: September 10 to October 12, 2025

      • Thursdays to Sundays from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., plus Thanksgiving Monday (Oct. 12)

    Please note that some heritage buildings are temporarily closed to the public between 11:45am - 12:45pm each day while our staff have their breaks, but there is still be plenty to see during this window!

    What Happens After Thanksgiving Day?

    • The Heritage Village is only open for Pre-Booked Education Programs and Seasonal Events. There are a number of seasonal events held each year. Make sure to check them out!

    • Each year from early February to mid-March we have Winter Walks and our annual Winter Exhibit in the Community Gallery. Check back in late January for more details.

  • Pay your Admission at the Fanshawe Conservation Area Toll Gate!

    As you enter the Fanshawe Conservation Area, tell them you plan to visit Fanshawe Pioneer Village and pay your admission there. Then bring your tickets to our Visitor Entrance for entry into the Heritage Village.‍ ‍

    $13 for adults

    $11 for seniors aged 65+ & students aged 17+ with a student card

    $7.50 for children aged 4 to 16

    FREE for children aged 3 and under

    All admission rates include tax.

    In the spirit of truth, reconciliation and friendship with all First Nations, Metis and Inuit, regular admission into the Heritage Village is FREE to Indigenous Peoples.

    General admission is free for support workers when general admission rates apply.

  • Accessible Parking

    • Accessible parking is located near the Spriet Family Visitor Centre and Heritage Village Entrance. The parking lot is made of gravel.

    • A drop-off/pick-up zone is located in front of the Heritage Village Entrance/Toll Gate.

    • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is served by London Para-Transit.

    In the Village

    • General admission is free for support workers when general admission applies.

    • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is an outdoor museum that tells the story of rural communities in the past.  As such, there are uneven packed-gravel roadways and grass paths throughout the Village.

    • When you enter the Heritage Village there is a cement path with a gradual incline that leads from the Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate into the Heritage Village.

    • There are gravel pathways and ramps into the majority of our buildings. Some buildings have areas of mown grass leading to their entrances.

    • Please note that due to the age of the heritage structures there are sometimes small lips into doorways, unlevel floors and smaller interior spaces. Most buildings are lit by natural light.

    • A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available for use at our Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate.

    Washrooms

    • The Village Washrooms are located near the entrance to the Village, behind the Village Hall building. 

    • Washrooms have accessible stalls as well as change tables.

    • An additional gender-neutral washroom with an adult size change table is available upon request. Please ask our Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate staff.

    Please try out our Virtual Village and Fanshawe 360 Experience to explore our building interiors, including those that may not be fully accessible.

    • Parking is FREE!

    • Park in the large Visitor Parking Lot located next to the Village. It can easily accommodate school buses and campers.

    • Accessible parking is located next to the Spriet Family Visitor Centre and Heritage Village Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate.

    • A drop-off/pick-up zone is located in front of the Heritage Village Entrance/Toll Gate.

    • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is served by London Para-Transit.

    • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is not serviced by the municipal bus system.

    • Bicycles, scooters and other vehicles which are not mobility devices are not permitted inside the Heritage Village. A bike rack is located beside the Spriet Family Visitor Centre.

    • The Village washrooms are located near the entrance to the Village, behind the Village Hall building. 

    • Washrooms have accessible stalls as well as change tables.

    • An additional gender-neutral washroom with an adult-sized change table is available upon request. Please ask our Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate staff.

    • Stop in at Denfield General Store during your visit for treats, refreshments, local products, handmade gifts and souvenirs. The store is open during our regular hours from 11:00am to 4:00pm each day.

    • The Store accepts debit, credit or cash.

    • Outside food and drink are allowed inside the Heritage Village and we encourage visitors to bring a pre-packed picnic lunch.

    • No alcohol is permitted.

    • Food and drink are not permitted inside the Heritage Buildings.

    • Picnic tables are available around the Village on a first-come-first-served basis.  Please make sure to clean up after your picnic. We do not have a covered eating area.

    • Denfield General Store sells snacks, drinks and cold treats.

    • There is a water bottle refill station located beside the washrooms in the Heritage Village.

    • Friendly pet dogs are welcome in the Heritage Village, but they must be leashed at all times and accompanied by a member of your party.

    • Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed inside the heritage buildings. Our buildings and the objects inside are artifacts. We recommend you take turns looking inside, while one of the people in your group looks after your dog outside. Pets must be supervised at all times and cannot be left tied up outside.

    • Only service animals are allowed inside buildings.

    • Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Bags are available in the Visitor Entrance.

    • Please note that we have farm animals, groundhogs and other wild critters at the Village. Please be mindful of your pet near the animal enclosures. We ask that you keep your dog away from the farm animals.

  • Smoking of any kind, including vaping, is prohibited inside the Heritage Village. Please ask the Visitor Entrance/Toll Gate staff where to locate the smoking area outside the Village.

  • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is inside a conservation area, and as such we need to do our part to protect the wildlife around us. Balloons, confetti and rice can pose a threat to nature and are not permitted on site.

  • Fanshawe Pioneer Village is located inside Fanshawe Conservation Area in London, Ontario.

  • Enter at 1424 Clarke Road, located at the Veterans Memorial Parkway and Clarke Road intersection. There is a sign that says “Upper Thames River Conservation Area”.

  • Upon entering Fanshawe Conservation Area, please let the Conservation Area tollgate attendant know you are visiting Fanshawe Pioneer Village and they will direct you to the museum. Follow the Directional Signs through the conservation area to the Village.

  • When using your GPS, specifically enter the address of 1424 Clarke Road. Some GPS’s will try to take you to our mailing address (2609 Fanshawe Park Rd.) unless you enter the correct address. The mailing address will take you to a locked gate and does not lead to the Heritage Village.
