Self-Led Village Visit

All Grades

Looking for a self-led option that allows students to explore the Heritage Village at a pace that works best for them?

Then this is the option for you! Self-led exploration lets students look in the various heritage buildings while exploring at pace that works best for your group.

During your visit we will provide a welcome and introduction to the Heritage Village. You are then able to take your students through the Village buildings on your own and talk with available costumed staff, who are found in some of our main buildings. While you are here you will find signs about each building and will see what life looked like between 1820-1920 in London and Middlesex County.

Make sure to ask at booking for our student scavenger hunts. We are happy to share PDFs of them with you in preparation for your visit.

Available Thursdays and Fridays only between the May long weekend and Thanksgiving Monday.

  • During self-led visits students are asked to go in smaller chaperoned groups while exploring. Students must be chaperoned at all times.

  • Since this option is only available during the times the museum is open to the public, we ask that groups be mindful of other visitors onsite.

  • We will also be running other pre-booked education programs at the same time. We ask that students be respectful of other groups using programming spaces. If a class is already in a space we ask that you wait or take a look later in the day.

  • Indoor lunch space is not guaranteed for this booking option, but picnic tables are available onsite.

  • NOTE: price is subject to general admission rate changes. Cost for this program matches the Village’s regular admission for Child entry.
