Homeschool Days at Fanshawe Pioneer Village!

Join us this fall on September 9, 16, and 23, 2021 for a day aimed at families and learners of all ages!

Two children wearing plaid shirts, long pants, and straw hats lean against a cedar rail fence looking at sheep grazing in a pasture. Their back is to the camera. The corner of a small log building is behind the sheep.

Come for a visit and discover what life was like between 1820 and 1920 as you explore the heritage buildings at your own pace.  While we are not able to do hands-on programming at this time, we will have artifact stations at select buildings showcasing daily life in the past. We are looking forward to sharing with you and chatting about local history!

Planning your visit:

  • The Village is open Thursdays from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.  (Last admission is at 3:30 pm, but we suggest coming earlier to see everything.)

  • Bring a picnic lunch and stay for the day.  Please note the Village General Store will be open, but our Café is closed this year.

  • During your visit masks are required in all indoor spaces and when interacting with other visitors and Village staff/volunteers (both inside and outside). This includes in our Visitor Entrance, General Store, washrooms, and all Heritage Buildings.

  • We ask that one group enters a building at a time. If a group is already inside a building please allow them to finish looking before entering.

  • Please remember to following safe physical distancing practices both with others groups and the Villagers. Thank you for your help in keeping our community safe.

For more information on what to expect, prices, and to learn about our current COVID-19 procedures, visit the Planning Your Visit — Fanshawe Pioneer Village section of our website.
